Ok, lots of ideas, names, email addresses and stuff flying around, which is great. Thought I'd take a second to summarise most of what I've seen, just to keep a track of everything, so here goes.
From what I saw on Jump Britain, to get anywhere with Parkour you need to be able to get out and about and do it, but you also need a safer place that people can gather to practice and swap techniques.
To this end some of us are looking into getting a regular slot in Kelvinhall sports hall, where we can rent a 5-a-side room and appropriate gear. This costs money, but given the number of people interested it shouldn't be more than a few quid a head. The most popular night that matches the halls availability seems to be Sunday.
Also been hearing a lot of great suggestions for sites around the city that would be good for getting a jam going. Personally, while I can't wait to get out and about doing Parkour, I am going to wait till we've had a chance to meet up at the sports hall and tried some stuff there (i've also got exams coming up, so should do a bit of studying I suppose). Once I've got a couple of techniques I'm happy with I'll be leaping all over the place though.
Someone suggested a meeting 12.00-12.30 (i'm presuming they mean't tomorrow) which is great, I think its a good idea for us to get to know each other if we are going to start an actual Parkour Glasgow club (again, something I'm all for once most of us are confident in what we are doing). Tomorrow is a bit short notice for a meeting for me though, so I have suggested meeting at Curlers pub on Byers Road on Friday 14th around 6pm, just to share ideas, get to know people etc.
If theres any questions, or anything i've missed etc post away, hope to see you all soon, i'm very excited about this Parkour stuff,
Fraser
