Alright all, names gaz ball, I'm 15-16 tomorrow- Ive bin doing parkour for about a year now, recently doing it with some of my mates. I live in sthelens so can probably get to Manchester and Liverpool on the train but cant go to London-yet-. I want someone to do parkour with cuz its the best sport Ive ever found ;D n i dint think id do it on my own cuz i need the momentum of other people plus they mite see things i dint so i really want some people to do it with. I do pull-ups and push-ups to improve my strengh and im fairly strong however, i definatly need better stamina-any ideas on how i cn improve stamina i already go running as much as i can. I always stretch before parkour training i learned my lesson the first couple of times i did it. On a completely different note, does anybody know of any good parkour gyms around because i really want to go to one!!!!! preferably in st-helens but around manchester and liverpool

1) please type in full. 2) parkour is a DISCIPLINE, not a sport. 3) you've been "doing" parkour.. so you've been constantly moving everywhere as efficiently as possible? its called training FOR parkour, where we won't always train the most efficient.
etc.

Thats a pretty lame post you know? A keen 15 year old comes on looking for a bit of advice and you start giving him the big ones? How do you know he isn't dyslexic and has trouble with writing? You must be a real geek or have insecurities about the size of your member or something in real life if you get off coming on forums and start flaming kids. We all got problems but taking them out on other people like that is lame lame lame. The bit I liked the most was you saying 'type in full' and then you said 'tis called...'. Aren't you breaking the rules you just set someone else? I am going to set a rule for you. Don't be a d***. Ok? Gaz: Would be cool to use the spellcheck down the bottom when making a post, people will be more keen to help you if it's more clear what you are after It takes longer but it will be worth it. As for Gyms, I am sure someone will get back to you if they know of one in the area. Mark

To be honest the amount of times people come on announce there arrival without even having read what parkour is about. There are many articles i have wrote which are stickied at the top of the forum sections which can be read by any one. gaz2k8 just came on posted and just showed us that he hadn't read any of the stickied posts! So thanks mark but i don't want you to come on and start bashing away at your keyboard because to be honest i don't think you either fully understand what parkour is... Antony wasn't flaming him. I am as well complelty fed up of people NOT READING ARTICLES! Understand what parkour is before bashing away at your keyboard.

Wow, so you are all like that then?
What a shame.
So it's about whether we 'understand what Parkour really is' is it? Of course I don't. I Haven't even started to learn it, as I said in my first post here. You can't expect people to just 'know'. People have to learn. Did you just understand what is was about before you even started? No I didnt think so. To learn the philosophy of a discipline takes time. If someone does understand it, thats not a downside to use as a weapon against someone to make them feel stupid.
The guys 15. Why not just say, 'hey Gaz, please read the posts there mate before you continue making other posts. It's easier if we are all on the same page. Thanks'
It's not hard.
And whos 'bashing' their keyboard? Not me.

This will give him a BASIC understanding of the discipline of parkour. You will understand the discipline more when you start training yes i agree. On the other hand you can learn a great deal from reading articles!

"I'm 15 to doesn't make any difference...I'm sure he if fully able to read articles that have been posted. "
How do you know he is fully capable of reading the articles? probability says that he is but its wrong to assume that and then start giving him the big ones. Just say, 'hey man, read this'. Job done. Your a Mod ffs
"This will give him a BASIC understanding of the discipline of parkour. You will understand the discipline more when you start training yes i agree. On the other hand you can learn a great deal from reading articles!"
I couldnt possibly agree more. Again, just say it. This is my point exactly.

ok, mark.
first of all, i was not in a happy mood. think about it, you have posted 4 times, this is my 598th. you don't know this site, you do not know what amount of crap we get on here.
all we get it "hi im a nu 3runr frm lundn, der any gyms wher i cn do flipz n nuts?" so, naturally, i am going to get angry, especially as we make examples, spend ages writing articles and get people not reading a thing we put up FOR THEM.
haha, you're the one flaming actually, calling me a thingy. how about, first of all you learn the rules of this place, as i am sure you do not. i have been here for near enoguh 2 years now, and am one of the most active members, you have posted 4 times.
i am not taking out on a person, i am simply re-telling, for the 100th time what i have put before, you try doing it.
a person with dyslexia would still be able to type in full, and not in msn text.
and, tis is an abbreviation of two words, to make the words sound better. "cn" and things are just removing leters randomly.
thanks for your post, but frankly, i don't care.

I have been posting here 4 years which makes my opinion more valid than yours and gives me the right to be a tw**. Oh it's like that is it? I might have guessed really. I loved the way you pointed out how many posts I have made and how many more you have made not just once but TWICE just to try and put more weight into your post. What a sorry state of affairs.

haha, the reason i posted that, is to simply show you how i know more about this site than you, clearly.
they were also because the were based on 2 different points.
you do not know this place, you have not seen all the crap, you haven't personally faced it.
i showed the view that i had the right to show, after he clearly has been ignorant and not bothered what we have wrote for him, i say that is dis-respectful. when people don't treat me with respect, they don't deserve it back :-)

btw mate, my point IS more valid than yours, so youe edit does nothing.
in other points, that point would be useable, but here, its actually right, so haha.
but, i'm not being a tw**, just re-itterating what he should have already read.
you should go reading too mate, 'stead of bashing at your keyboard

The mod and the active member putting their putting their egos before their resolve. So predictable.
I will go and I will learn about Parkour. And I have a feeling that one day I will look back on this thread and see that neither of you would have made these elitist posts if either of you truly understood and perhaps even gained and bit of innder balance from it's philiosophy but.....time will tell.
Fact is, " I was here first, so there" is not an argument and, deep down, you know it.

ant- i agree with marc on a few points here. the first post you made ant, had only 1 valid point which was, type in full. parkour is not a sport, its a discipline? i hadnt realised that had been set in stone. okay so its anti competition but so are other sports, not the issue here anyway. the 3rd point you made was unnecessary and a bit over zealous. as for the point you made about your opinion being more valid than his, you couldnt be more wrong, post counts and length of membership bear no relevance to parkour skills, knowledge or entitlement to be on a forum. someone with 1 post has the same standing as you. end of. also, due to your 'bad day' this thread has been ruined for the new guy, who actually presented himself well in his first post including info about how he trains and asking for specific advice, which hasnt been answered at all.
charlie- tbh im a little disappointed as i thought you would be more objective. i thought antonys post was harsh BEFORE i read marcs post underneath, its important to project the correct image of the forums and greeting a newcomer to the site with a post like that is something you should be dealing with as a mod. you know all this already.
Gaz2k8- Hi, welcome to the forums. for people training in your area try checking the local area threads for st helens. well done on the conditioning and stretching. its something that is overlooked all too often. for stamina id recommend swimming as its low impact for the joints in the body, or using a rowing machine. oh, and can you please try and type in full as some users do not have english as their first language. any questions?

Ive not been on since the other day and ive just been reading some of the quotes an, thanks Mark for sticking up for me, first off im not dyslexic, secondly, im sorry for not typing in full im just used to not but you could of just said "can you type in full please" simple, again i say- ive been doing parkour for over a year now, i know that flips arent part of it and i didnt ask for anyone to tell me of any gyms where i can do flips-i dont want to do freerunning!!!!. It was late and id just come across the site i wanted to let people know who i was were i was from and let people know i wanted to meet new people who share the passion for the "discipline"(antony) that i do so I guess the point that im trying to get across is im sorry if i upset any of you but dont try to judge me when you dont even know me i find that sadistic. maybe you should try to get to know me first and ill read the articles! Oh forgot to mention-thanks for the advice on the swimming, i never knew that
