Hey guys. My friend and I are just starting this in Cocoa Beach, FL. We've been doing similar things (not quite as hardcore) but never learned how to do them properly. Looking forward to getting started. Still mastering the PK roll, LoL. my e-mail is Arcterus(at)cfl.rr.com if you guys have any advice in getting started. ;D

hi aLIENKa, you should start by learning the pk roll (which you can find a tutorial for here www.parkour.org.uk/parkour_tutorial_pkroll.html ), the pk roll will help you convert downward momentum from drops into forward momentum to continue running, if you're into martial arts (as your avatar suggests), you probably already know a breakfall, which is very similar to the pk roll. After you learn that, just browse the Parkour Techs forum (right here parkouruk.proboards24.com/index.cgi?board=general ) and learn whatever you want (i recommend starting with cat leaps, precision jumps, and simple vaults). hope this helps, jtraceur

yeah, I'm into Real Aikido, and I've seen the tut. on the pk roll, it's the same thing we do. I can say I've mastered it pretty much-I jump over 5-6 people landing perfectly with what you call the pk roll. I can also do one & two handed vaults. I'm pretty sure I can do a backflip, but the thing is, I don't really have a place to try it out (on crash mats) in case anything goes wrong... And thanks jtraceur, you're a lot of help.

you're welcome, as for the backflips, do you have a beach around, if so, then get a couple of friends to try and spot you and go for it, if you're pretty sure you can do it. have you did backflips before?

Hello 'Hello northwest' Can I suggest that if you want people to get in touch you might want to leave an e-mail address (add spaces to avoid spam) or 'sign up' as a member so that people can private message you. These will save you having to search this thread for replies all the time.
