Hi all i'm new if you haven't already gathered I'm just wondering if there was any personal training or advice going for beginners of parkour. Me and a friend discovered this the other day and find it is a lot more affective than free running as it is more daring and looks better. If there is any advice or training going then please reply to this thread. And hi I am looking forward to talking to new people. Thanks, [glow=red,2,300]Phantom Morpheus, And Dominetrix.[/glow]

hey, first of all dude you need to recognise that parkour is a lot more than just being daring and looking cooler. Its about the mental and physical sides too, and also changing your lifestyle.(thats if you want to fulfill yourself as a traceur and not just do parkour for fun). But for the actual physical training, you should warm up before and after training, e.g. muscle stretches and maybe light jogging. This is to avoid incurring any injury while practising parkour. try to start off small and build up to slowly increase your ability. The most important thing is to start within your ability and don't try anything beyond your ability to you feel more confident. if you need any more advice email me on -

cool, just remember to train constantly, and if you take a big break from parkour, then start again doing the basics, don't just jump back into it, i've talked to many people who have taken a break from parkour then try to resume where they left from and seriously injured themselves, but most of all remember to have fun! =]

Can I let you in on a secret?... I love to train alone, because when I use to train with people (ironicly boys) I use to be really self conscious and lost confidence. Now when I train alone I feel freer to try new things and when I go to a jam with the boys I feel more confident and less self conscious
