Ariakes are pretty good, I had some a while back, but I wouldn't pay the full whack for them. This is partially because they're not the best shoes for my style of movements, partially because of the way my feet are shaped, and partially because the rubber keeps picking up grease and dust, and needs wiping off every so often.
I'd recommmend trying a pair on if have access to them, so you can decide for yourself. How easily can you get into Norwich? Dickie or Buttercup may be able to lend you theirs...

i got some and i'm very happy with them. people have remarked that the cushioned heel is pointless; i do not know the mechanics of why but they seem to work for me. i also noticed that there was almost total silence when i first used them; maybe it was psychological and i was for some reason doing things differently with them, but either way i've been very pleased. For me they were worth the money, if only for that "oooh new shoes!" feeling i haven't had for a long while.
