Callout for new performances in unusual places in Liverpool.
On The Verge is an exciting and dynamic festival showcasing provocative new performance work by emerging artists in unusual places and spaces across the city of Liverpool from 21st - 25th October 2015.
The call out for proposals of performance work for inclusion in the festival is now open and the organisers want to hear from emerging artists/companies with fresh ideas who can challenge themselves and their art forms in new ways to create something unforgettable for the audience.
On The Verge is presented by Hope Street Ltd, an organisation with over 25 years’ experience that has been instrumental in developing theatrical forms in Liverpool (including physical theatre with Tmesis and street theatre) as well as developing events that remain regular fixtures in the city, like the Brouhaha Festival and the Lantern Carnival.
Hope Street Ltd are eager to hear proposals for pieces that may take place anywhere that isn’t already somewhere people go to see performance. This could be a phone box, a park, a shop window, a skip, a warehouse - or any other unconventional places or spaces. The proposals can be for any live performance work (drama, dance, live art, music, etc) and must be from artists or companies at the onset of their careers.
The selected artists/companies will have access to a bespoke package of developmental support from Hope Street Ltd before, during and after the festival to aid the realisation of their work. This may take the form of creative production support, help with sourcing/apply for funding, marketing and future planning. Successful applicants will receive expenses towards local travel in the Liverpool City Council boundaries during the festival and food/refreshments for the duration of their participation in On The Verge Festival in October. A contribution may also be made by Hope Street Ltd towards to costs of realising the work.

The deadline for submission of proposals is Thursday 9th April 2015 at 5pm.
