Well firstly u wont be the only first timer there so u aint got to worry bout that. and really just practice. running is good maybe some weights if you can to build strength. But look on the tech board and on other sites for 'trick tips'. its just practice and don't start to big for what you can handle mike:)

Everybody has a unique way of training but i'd say anyfing to train your balance, muscles, and soem athletics exercises should be good ( specially for jumping).

i have also just started parkour. i have found internet sites with traing videos and clips good to show you the right way to do moves/tricks. it is also very important to get the basics right, as this builds a foundation which you can then build upon, then you should be able to develope your own unique style of parkour.well that is what i have been told

Hey I am a computer g33k, and Im just starting out, well anit done anything but will do, just wanted to know what I should do, Im not your average computer g33k who has no muscels etc, I am built a bit so its ok for me, what do you think I should do? I like in the South Glos area of Bristol, I have an okish balance from learning tae-kwon-do a few years back, so what you think I should do?
Weights and maybe just jumping and running?

well just doing pk will help you build your muscles that are needed to do pk, but working out with weights would just help your overall strength which is a good thing. you might also want to do stretches to improves your flexability as this is very useful in pk.me and a couple of others live in south glos and most of us are new to the sport. just ask around on the forums and you should find loads of people in your area that do pk to practice with.

Alright guys.....
I have only been looking to do this for the past 10 days or so as well. Ive been out running, walking, swimming and doing weights since xmas.... and at the moment that is my training programme. Ive found a couple of places in Bath to do some things...but the weathers been bad too. im mad for doing this definately...... I reckon people are going out on the 22nd jan, 16th feb and maybe on 19th of feb in Bristol. The tutorials on some websites arent bad they are worth a go!!!
