Personally, I'm hoping this is going to be an incentive to get fit again. I'm looking to get running first, then try some proper Parkour when I feel ready.
From what I saw on the programme on channel 4, it takes a while to get the basic moves down without the use of a gym with proper facilities for this kinda thing, so I'm hoping to get some decent level of fitness back while trying out basic moves before moving on to more clever stuff.
Besides fitness, I think a BIG factor in this crazyness and time. You've got to have balls the size of basketballs, and a lot of time to practice, in order to do some of the stuff they were pulling off.

obviously its gunna take some time, but getting the basic moves isnt that hard, they are basically a PK Roll, One-handed and two-handed vaults, king kong, and most other vaults apart from the hand spring. then u have the cat leaps and precision jumping. they are the basic moves.

I agree, you do have to practice the little moves like the vaulting and tumbling first, till you get them spot on. But surely you get fit and do basic parkour at the sametime???
I know what I'm like... if i don't make a small start with these things I never get round to doing them! Stuff gets in the way! COME ON BLURRY!
(Having said that I'm getting over the Flu so I'm looking to one week)

Gimme a week ot get back on form...
But can I make one suggestion. Russell Park would be a good place. Loads of benchs and metal rails, plus soft glass so you can fall on your backside in relative comfort! You can also find a stop where your not gonna embarras yourself!

Get fit quick. Suggest getting your over all fitness up first. Pop down to Biggleswade Athletic Club on a Tuesday or Thursday night at Sandy Upper School. Coaches there teach speed work and over all indurance. All will help in Parkour! (Biggleswade AC will help you put the running into "Free Running".) There is usually about 45 of us on a Tuesday and 25 on a Thursday. Hope to see you there. Check out www.biggleswadeac.org.uk
