for tips on grip i wouldnt personaly use gloves as this reduces the feel in ur hands on what your touching. I would recomend chalk, this soaks up sweat on ur hands and keeps em extra grippy..... ps you can buy chalk for climbing at most outdoor shops..

the more you wear gloves the less stronger your feel is going to be i really wouldn't suggest wearing gloves ,yes you might get some cuts but they will heal and it tends to strengthen your hands alot if you dont wear gloves eventually your hands will be very tough and even the sharpiest of walls dont tend to bother you until they toughen up just make sure you have spray plaster handy with you,it helps

or leave it to heal on its own?
thats ALOT better, if it adapts to getting stronger naturally, it'll do the same to prevent infection.
and, don't wear gloves. grip - poor. aesthetics - poor. help for training - poor.
