Hello ickle_pea, the reasons behind which every individual traceur (person that practices parkour) does parkour can vary a lot, as each one has a unique life and their parkour expresses it in different ways. That is part of the reason why forums exist, to share their thoughts and feelings on it... I guess what I am trying to say is it's hard to generalise the reasons behind it, My best suggestion is read through the forum, the parkour discussion section will help you a lot. I am also a firm believer in the fact that you won't find the answer in one forum, as each forum only has one set of people and due to the nature of the human mind, they tend to conform a lot to that one forum, so radically different opinions can be found on different forums. I think this thread belongs in the "Greater London" section so i'll move it for ya, as soon as you've seen my reply ( post in this thread as soon as you do ) Anyway, I wish you the best of luck with your dissertation, I'll be happy to tell you my personal views but sadly have no pics or vids to show you yet and am in no condition to get some done, due to an injury email me at bachelarius[at]gmail.com if you want my views, however i alone in no way represnt the whole pk community and strongly suggest you put in the time to do the proper research
