every weekend saturday is usually pretty quiet, so go if you want to actually train, improve and expect to meet some really dedicated people who will be training pretty solidly. Sunday is a more popular day, however you will not feel the same 'vibe' as you do on a saturday. More people come but it sometimes gets overcrowded and people go off to trick and do random stuff after a while. But your sure for a good time if you go as the people are amazingly friendly and will gladly share knowledge with anyone. whenever you go, you will (probably) have a great day, enjoy

Depends what you are looking for when you say free running. If what you have in mind contains many flips, tricks and looks visually amazing, then you would be looking for some practicioners of freestyle parkour / 3run. If on the other hand you are looking for l'art du deplacement, or Parkour as it is commonly known, which is an art which utilises the human body to move in an efficient manner, where you are moving with a goal in mind, then you will be looking for traceurs. For information about parkour, I suggest you go to the site www.parkour.net, they have some very good articles, and a few videos to give a general idea about what it is. To witness some people training first hand, head down to the shell center on a sunday some time after about 11, which is situated between the London Eye and Waterloo station (big skyscraper-like building, a walkway passes through it which leads from Jubilee gardens to the station). Feel free to ask someone there, as you will be able to find both traceurs and free runners there. good luck and please dont portray us as "thrill seekers" or "roof jumpers" or any other stupid tag like that which tends to be labled on us by others.

Hi We (my 6 yr old son, me a 42 yr old ex-rugby player, plus friends) have been running around Brixton inspired by Jump Britain! film. We have no parkour experience or training but have really enjoyed it and definitely experienced urban space in a new way. I am researching how humans move through and experience space. I am an artist and my work is about how we draw with our bodies. I want to propose something to some traceurs: to try to run the most direct route from my college (Camberwell) to my sons school in Brixton. This would be an art piece, hopefully filmed aerially and tracked to created a huge drawing. So please contact me! Either on this site or on 07886246907 or abrewa(at)aol.com

I don't live too far from Brixtion, down in Mitcham and you've got a really good idea there. There are quite a few traceurs round my area, so if you want to meet up with us, feel free to contact me at bachelarius(at)gmail.com Alternatively, a member of pk london lives in streatham, who would probably be happy to call some of the guys. Contact him at www.pklondon.com, in their forums his alias is "Loud - Site designer" Send him a pm if you want, tell him I told you good luck and PLEASE post a picture of the final product, as this sounds like a good project. One quick question though, is this art piece going to be made for yourself as a hobby or a submission to a site/mag or company or something? Thanks in advance.

Come down to the shell center in waterloo, near the london eye on a saturday or a sunday. Sunday is usually fuller, so its a good time for a beginner to come down and get some inspiration.

Another media one I'm afraid... I am looking to get in touch with a parkour group in London with a view to taking some photos to accompany an article that we are running in our next issue. Stimulus is an online magazine covering urban anthropology. The article itself it looking at how urban subcultures are challenging the boundaries of gender, and more specifically it will be looking at urban sports such as parkour. Having read the boards, I'm going to come down with the photographer either this weekend or next. If you're particularly interested in this project, then please email me directly at jack (at) stiimulusrespond (dot) com. Thanks Jack www.stimulusrespond.com
