hey chris/physio person
i tend to get bad muscle pain and aches very easily. i always stretch after doing any kind of workout. the main problem at the moment is i am getting an ache in my forearm in the underside. when lifting weights or putting pressure on it it hurts. i have taken weeks of rest and used hot and cold compresses. have had it for a while now.
also get really bad knee joint aches and pains and my shins are on the way out too... feels like shin splints. i wear very cushioned trainers.
any thing you can suggest. i know the info i have given you isnt great but clutching at straws really
cheers!

hello banzai,
even if you wear very cushioned shoes, you can still get shin splints if you are doing loads of high drops (over 3 meters), especially if you are a beginners, so, just lay off the running and drops until you shins get better.
i do not know about the forearm or knees though.

if nothing in particular caused the pain in your arm... it's a muscle issue. See a doctor... get some Flexeril (muscle relaxers) and it should be healed within a week or so. Rest is very much the best medicine... but... rest means SERIOUS rest... like doing nothing... just enough so that it doesn't atrophy.

nurofen is a good drug for muscle pains as it contain anti-inflamatores.
