Holy trunks! Everyone is lovin the Parkour! Sounds as if the same thing happened to everyone, - watched Jump London, thought it was class, did a bit and then forgot about it.
Then watched the english set up a parkour club in Jump Britain and now everyone's up for it again!
I love it, tho that feet first jump they did (over the horse in the gym) looks bloody scary! I'm from carrick too, 19yrs aul.
You cud try Carrick leisure centre or Valley leisure centre (near abbycentre) if you wana book some where.
Tho im guessin everyones a novice at it so there wudn't be anyone to show you the moves. But its great to know you guys are seriously talking about setting one up.
I shall keep my ears and eyes open! I'm off to check out screwgravity.com and buy me some tracky B's

Hey im mic when u rent the dunmurry gym wot day wud u be doing it on. Im only 14. wot age are use all??? You can't rent the one in Dunmurry, if it's the one I was talking about. There's a class open to anyone at 8pm on Tuesday evenings. Also, you can't just show up and mess about trying things. You need to have a clear idea about what you want to learn - acro, vault, balance, etc.

Okay guys I've been scouring google and I've found a really good site, check it out sometime: oookay, for some reason the forum won't let me link to the site but check out Jump Belfast where the link actually works. The tutorials there are much better then screwgravity because they explain the basics. I've also been asking around on other sites for info on what we should be trying to learn at our first meet, whenever that'll be Anyway, I'm just waiting for some replies but I will let you know a.s.a.p. I'll be posting this in the UK association site too for newbies to read. Hope this helps By the by, I should mention that the moderators for the site are Kerbie and Blue and the rest of the guys from Jump Britain. Cool huh? Let's make a good impression! ;D

Well, someone's added it to the event calendar on the site at least. I work around the corner from the Waterfront so I might pop over to see what's happening.

I posted this on the Jump Belfast board already.
I had a chat with the people at the Dunmurry gym tonight. The insurance is £15 for the year and classes are £5 each. However, you have to be 16 or over to join.
People interested in PK are welcome to go to the classes as long as they understand that they are there to be taught proper gymnastics, not to mess around and do their own thing. Many different people train there for different reasons (martial artists, break dancers, stuntmen, etc.) but the coaches work on the principle of teaching you proper gymnastic techniques and then let you adapt those to whatever it is you do in your own time.
There were people there tonight trying wall flips and the front handspring onto the 'wall' that the guys in London were trying on Jump Britain. However, these were experienced gymnasts so don't show up expecting to try anything beyond beginner level.
Unfortunately next Tuesday will be my last week there for a few months.
