Ok, this is the first of a couple of articles for you guys tonight.
well, toay,
i came back from being out with a mate,
it was pouring down with rain, and i decided to wait out and stand in the rain, watching as people ran past, covering themself from water.
it got me to thinking:
to be physically strong is one thing,
so what if i can go to 10 pull ups with perfect form,
if it came to being out in cold weather, most people would fail.
how can we really protect those we love if we can't stand a bit of rain?
We rely too much on un-natural man made methods to keep us warm,
when really, humans should have evolved by now naturally to adapt,
sure, its debateable that evolution can be of the mind, but this evolution would mean that we have totally seperated ourselves from what is natural to us, how would we survive in cold temperatures? how could our minds save us there?
Though you may be physically strong, if you are not mentally strong, then how can you be strong?
you may ask how this relates to training;
well;
david belle & the french guys will never declare that they can do a movement untill they have done it during day, night and rain.
who cares if you can muscle up double armed?
if you have someone after you with a knife in their hands, and you were wearing jeans in the rain, could you escape?
If you are not strong enough to embrace something so natural, how can you develop as a person (or, more suitably, a traceur)?
someone once labelled themself "master of my environment"
but, are they really?
what would they be like naked in the dark cold & rain?
what if their environment consisted of nothing but slippery obstacles, will they be the master of their environment in those situations?
life will never stay the same.
you can't train in JUST sun
train in wetness, darkness etc.
To quote a popular saying,
"God is in the rain"
thank you for reading.
i'd like to hear your thoughts.
