Is bullying from classmastes normal when you start parkour because ever since I started I've been bullied. today was the worst in PE we were doing dodgeball and even my own team mates were throwing the balls at me! I told the teacher and he said he would watch them!
YEAH RIGHT! He paid no attention when my own team mate threw a ball which I took a ball to the face and got a nose bleed then someone else on my team threw another and I got hit in the side the face making my eye water! Then they were taking the mick saying I was crying when my eye was just watering. They were also shouting stuff like "Parkour is sh*t" and "Dodge this you pr*ck"
So I want to know is bullying normal when you start parkour?!
If this continues I'm thinking of giving up parkour just to make it stop!

if you stop you're just giving in to what they want. people took the p*ss out of me when i started, and i just laughed it off.
bullies basically pick on someone because they have low self esteem, by putting someone else down, it lifts themself up. so if you get affected by it, they've succeeded.
what you do is turn it back on them like call an obese person a "fat sh*t"
or if they throw stuff at you, do the same back, but twice as hard
or you could just deck them all? haha
just don't brag about parkour, keep it quiet unless someone brings it up and they won't bother you about it. people that done it to me stopped, even though theres now a newspaper article about it with me in on my college wall haha
and i don't mean for this to make you get violent, but fighting fire with fire can sometimes be good haha

Well when I started (not incredibly long ago) I thought ahead and kept it more or less to myself (and some good friends). Not even telling family. I knew I'd take some pointless criticism that I didn't need so I figured there was no point in mentioning it to people.
I say don't quit, but stay tight lipped about it. If it doesn't blow over, it's not because of Parkour that you're getting abuse. If you quit, you'll not only hinder you future fitness at least a little, but you'll also leave the window open for the same bullies to call you a quitter or a sheep. Put simply they won't stop bullying you if they've already influenced one life change and will be adding fuel to the fire. More so than if you are to continue.
Parkour is not just about efficient movement but self improvement. Don't let bullies stop you improving.
In just a few years from now (maybe less) your bullies will be a thing of the past whatever choice you make. They'll make no difference then. You may or may not be enjoying parkour now but you need to be in for the long run like the rest if you want to reap the benefits.

Thanks guys really appreciate the help.
And your right! I told one of the other members of the Syons and they said they are only bullying me because they can't do it themselves and I'm different because I choose to do it!
These words combined with yours has given me a boost and they can throw as many balls and as many fists but I will just shake them off!
Thanks again guys

I cant say i've had that experience from doing PK but they maybe jelous because you can do something that others are afriad to try because it is physically and mentally demanding.

Judging by what you've said I would say to keep parkour hush-hush for now but continue practicing and training. Eventually you will become fitter than the bullies, then who'll be throwing the balls around eh? And as for that pesky teacher of yours, report him to the headmaster!

well if you keep mentioning it they'll get annoyed with parkour and start pushing you about it everyone knows i do it, but i don't talk about it, i'm quite modest really. and if people try and take the piss out of it, just laugh along, haha

all i do if someone takes the p*ss outta me for parkour is just do somthing quite simple, that looks impressive and ask them to try... normally they thingy it right up and you then get to laugh at them. if they land it properly then they should stop taking the p*iss coz they figure out that it is really quite cool, or at least thats how iv done it, and i havnt got any problems. if not just ignore em mate, take the strees out while doing the parkour.

DO NOT QUIT!!! Parkour is something everyone wishes they could do. To have the ability to perform the wide range of movements is to be desired.
Ignore these bums, keep going. better yet, find a group near you to support you thru this time.
Remember, those kids will soon be out of your life, parkour is forever!!!

Don't give in. If you give in from some mickey taking I'll be honest with you mate you're gonna suffer in life. Parkour requires dedication beyond the bounds of mainstream sport.
What you need to do is just keep training. And train hard. so you're no good at dodgeball, honestly it's a crappy sport (I should know I coach it).
Just get out there and train, that is parkour.
