Hi Guys, Im passionate about leaning parkour but was wondering if my age will affect me with some of the moves. I have not been to a gym in a long time and have only just started training and was wondering how long it will take to get to the same fitness level as some of you younger guys. Also what type of exercises should I be doing as guessing it should be upper body and legs Any help appreciated Thanks

I am finding Climbing a good complimentary sport. A good combo of strength fitness and flexibility and a great social way to learn new skills. At 32 I am also new to PK and trying to find where I can learn more.
Trainning on my own just gets funny looks when jumping aroung the local kids playground.

Im also having that problem as most of the guys that are experienced in this seem to be 18 - 24.
Im from the Leeds area and asked a group of lads to teach me and they are well up for it but would feel a bit awkward with my lack of experience and also the fact that most of the training seems to be out on the street. Im also hitting the gym hard and trying to get back into shape but as soon as feel ready to have a go then I will have a few sessions with these lads and hopefully i will should be able to pick up a few of the easier moves in no time at all.
I watched a few videos on youtube and now im fixated by parkour and never been so passionate about learning something new. Im not sure if us older guys will be able to do some of those moves but maybe some one will correct me.

look things like this can be done by all ages i would say as long as there is no medical reason then it is posible to do most of the things you have seen
I know a 42 year old that does gymnastics and he has no problem and he started a year ago so there shouldnt be a prob
ps matresses are a good couson for acrobatics if there is no access to a gym

Hi
What type of exercises would you recommend and dont forget I have not been to a gym for a long time. I have started jogging, sit up, and so on but most of these are done at home and if possible do you know of a website that can show me the basics.
Also what should my diet consist of as Im a bit confused as some say eat loads of carbs and other say no carbs at all. So far im on a low fat diet and guessing this is the right way to go.
Would be good to meet up with someone in Leeds to give me some tips and maybe show me a few things
