Auditions will be held on Mon 12, Tues 13 & Weds 14 March, 12 – 6pm.
Candidates must attend all three days of auditions at:
Hangar Arts Trust, Unit 7a, Mellish House, Harrington Way, Woolwich SE18 5NR
Nearest train stations: Charlton and Woolwich Dockyards
What is STREB EXTREME ACTION?
“My investigation of movement has led me to choices which vary from traditional norms. My dancers and I see the rehearsal as a laboratory for testing scientific principles on the body. We invent action ideas which we think are archetypal, noticeable, understandable. The outcome is a mixture of slam dancing, exquisite and amazing human flight and a wild action sport which captures kids, older people and the general public’s hearts and minds and bodies.” Elizabeth Streb.
Points to note:
•
• Rehearsal commitment is 3 x 3hrs per week till mid June with John Paul Zaccarini and then one month full-time rehearsal with Elizabeth Streb and company till mid-July.
• The performance will involve working at extreme heights.
• To confirm your attendance please contact lucy.ryan(at)zen.co.uk
The UK rehearsal/training period will be run by John Paul Zaccarini. Zaccarini has been a major influence in UK contemporary circus theatre since 1994. He has also choreographed extensively in Scandinavia for major theatre and circus companies. He is about to complete the first doctoral study of circus from an artist's perspective.
