Hello all. New to the forum here.
Some background info. Have always been completely taken and fascinated by the idea of parkour as a concept, but only recently taken it up seriously (just turned 24). Have a background in (street)dancing (I was younger!) and martial arts, and was a runner prior to freerunning.
Recently when running I didn't eat much for a while - few weeks - just ran (including interval training during). Shortly after I started eating a bit better, like one meal a day, but nothing serious like I do now - sort of paleo eating atm.. Anyway I lost a lot of weight by running, but also presumably muscle too, hence am paying for it in terms of lacking (say) important upper body strength necessary for parkour - which I found out about shortly after taking my first class!
So I've been eating a lot better now; sensibly and regularly. I generally PK a few times a week - one or two heavy sessions and one or two light - and work on core strength, conditioning and bodyweight exercises etc. three times a weekish as well - slow progression but one day at a time.
Anyway, I'm due to work for 3 days fairly long shifts on a bar at a festival (pretty much all day shifts - like 9am til 11pm. I like to work festivals sometimes..). Usually in this scenario I just don't eat and drink water. With recent developments however I'm concerned about muscle development. If I've been putting a lot of effort in bodyweight training and eating for the past week, and upper body strength is a particular focus of mine atm, and then I don't eat, or train really, for three days straight (friday saturday sunday), would this compromise any recent muscle development I've been working on?? Or will it instead be fine to just not eat and drink water for three days, then crack on on come Monday?
Don't want to worry, but I'm taking this quite seriously, and am concerned on potential consequences of switching my dietary / training habits up..
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
