Hi, i'm Kyle. I'm coming up for 23 years old and have only just started practicing parkour formally, the past few weeks in the Falkirk area. There isn't any Parkour gyms or classes nearby, so it seems i'm on my own.
I have a martial arts background (Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Du, Shaolin Kung Fu and elements from other martial arts) and did encounter parkour in high school. I always felt it was out of my league. After looking up countless information online, including Youtube videos, i finally realized there isn't anything stopping me.
I had a bit of a slip up while learning tic-tacs.I lost grip while doing one and it botched my landing. Came down pretty hard but due to breakfall training in martial arts, i didn't break anything.Just muscular.
So i've decided to start right at the beginning. Breakfalls will be drilled to death and begin practicing vaults. Go from there.
It's something i always wanted to do. It's a shame it took me this long to get started but never too late.
It's great that i found this forum and i look forward to chatting to you all.
Kind regards,
Kyle
