Hello there everyone,
I'm posting this here as I was unsure where to post on your board, but if your a moderator please move this thread to the correct area if needed.
My name is Levi and I am a Project Manager for a UK film production company based in West Yorkshire and I wanted to post here over something that we will be producing over the summer months that your members may find interesting.
Over the next few months we will be producing a "Best of British" Pakour/Freerunning video that is aimed at showcasing just what we as a country can do.
The film will be seen nationwide, and will be shown at all the various festivals, for example, the Leeds International Film Festival, and many others, plus it will appear on YouTube and similar sites under their "Feature" promotions.
The format of the video will be more like a themed video than a normal Freerunning one. This is because there are countless numbers of normal videos featuring very basic Pakour/Freerunning moves and unfortunately these videos are extremely basic and not very inspiring.
We want to make a themed video as at this time the only other country to put on themed videos are the USA, and they average up to 60 million views on line...which certainly promotes them and their Pakour/Freerunning to the rest of the world.
(I will see if I can attach a video to this post on Monday to show you all exactly what we mean.)
We believe that there is a great deal of talent in the UK and that the Pakour/Freerunning groups here should be supported by media and by the sports council as many people believe that it is a legitimate sport which takes skill and dedication to master.
Indeed you will all probably know that the athletics association is considering including Pakour/Freerunning in to several "parks" (similar to the skateboard and biking parks found around England) in the hope of promoting it.
Now, what we are looking for are male and female freerunners to take part in the film, and we will be holding a pre-production meeting soon within the next 4 to 5 weeks, so that anyone who is interested can come along and find out more and of cause to have have an input on the format.
(All the people chosen for the film will be paid for their services.)
So now, what we would like you to do is post on this thread if you are interested in the event, and we can then see if there is sufficient interest to merit taking this project forward.
We are also trying to contact other groups throughout England over this event, but sadly it seems that a great many links to groups are now dead, or that the group is no longer operating. If you can help us by pointing us to groups that you know are still active, then that would be great!
I will post more details on this project over the next few days.
Thank you for your time.
Levi
