Hi I'm Alan and I live in Langley Mill. I look after people with spinal injuries so I keep myself resonably fit.Watched the prog the other night and along with my teenage daughters would like to have a go.Although I'm 38 I'm not over the hill yet and could probably give a few of you a run for your money! How about starting a proper group in the area like the Levity lads in Devon?
I'll post msn details when I'm home but I can be e-mailed on alan(at)adelbry.co.uk

Message for adelbry ...
you said you look after people with spinal injuries, i have a slight lower back injury. I used to be a roofer and had an accident lifting heavy equipment. Do you think it is wise for me to start Parkour? I'd appreciate your advice if yr an expert.
Cheers HcK

Hi Hck, I'm not a medical professional and the people I work with have severed spinal cords through motor racing accidents and rock climbing falls so are completely paralysed from the neck down(similar to christopher reeve who played superman in the films)

Hi All sorry posted before I'd finished, that said the same would be true for you as with anyone who has an injury or hasn't exercised for a while, check with your own doctor. Exercise and fitness training is beneficial for everyone though whatever their age or previous level of fitness. The key is to warm up first, begin with fairly gentle exercise and build gradually your levels of strenghth, endurance and flexibility. There is a good discussion of these in the clinic forum. I have also got a book from the library called Fitness for Sport by Rex Hazeldene which discusses how to builf up and train in the key areas, what exercises to do and diagrams and instructions showing how to do them. If we can get a group together it would be great to practice together. If I can be of further help just let me know. alan(at)adelbry.co.uk
