Do you ever feel that Parkour is risky, and if so, how do you deal with this? Why do you do something that others might consider dangerous?
Does society feel like a highly regulated place, and if so, how does relate to Parkour? Is it criminal or subversive to practice parkour? Is Parkour regulated?
I know this is a lot of questions but i hope the general thread is clear!

I find that with parkour- and indeed many other sports- visualization is key. I look in my mind and if I can't picture myself pulling off the move, I will think twice about doing it. With experience you can judge your maximum jumping distance, for example. For me, I am accurate to within a matter of inches. This confidence in yourself helps you to get over the 'danger'.
The social response to parkour depends entirely on where you practice it. if it is in an alley no-one gives a sh*t, however in a town centre on market day in not a bright idea. Parkour is only really criminal when you trespass on property- this includes the roofs of buildings- or if you damage property. However generally speaking, when you are running you will have been and gone in the blink of an eye, so you don't really get caught.
Parkour is not regulated. It is a freedom of expression- you do what you like.
P.S. you speak in your questions throughout the forum in a detatched way- as if you do not practice parkour/freerunning. The questions seem like that of a journalist! are you a traceur/ freerunner?

where i live parkour isnt truly excepted as me and my firend are the only people practising it but we are slowly encouraging the correct view of it - thus more people are watching and talking to us with respect - they used to watch and say it was amzing but stupid - we tried to talk to them about it but they said it is bringing the sensible reputation if evesham down, but thankfully - they are now starting to agree with it - the senior of the public while the kids think its cool but will only mess about and the teenagers - not many beieve i do it as they havnt seen me - but they say its pointless and parkour is a posh name to run away from the police - that upsets me i try to expai - but all they visualize is me running overbuidling but they just wont listen only the ones that practise with me obviuously believe i know theresa lot of moanng and not much we can do about it but we can just keep our heads together and when the questions do come we can explain with patience ;D
