Hello there from Wales! The names Adam. I come from Brecon in S. Wales. Home of the Jazz festival and not much else!. I'm 19. I've been practicing ninjering for about 2 and half years and that has developed to doing parkour aswell in the last 6 months. As for conditioning, I generally keep fit by playing football. Also do things like press ups, sit ups and pull ups at home when I get the chance. Posted a thread regarding starting a club in the beginners sub-forum here.Ta ta for now, Adam. I've edited the post, it now does link to the thread I mentioned.

"ninjering"?
do you mean ninjitsu?
and, under conditioning, thats good on you. but, you need to work your legs. things like calf raises etc should help. also things like leg extensions.
ONE thing that i would not recommend personally is squats - especially weighted ones.
running in forests, treadmills with a slope, (running up hills)
all this can get you stronger.
there are many other leg strengthening exercises, but at the time being i can't remember them

Any reasons behind this? When its a commonly used for squats as well as pistols... its not damaging if done correctly. If it was damaging why do we have power squatting?

"personally" thats what i said. i have my theorys that squats are very dangerous for the cartilage in the knee joint. i don't personally feel like they are doing us any favours. and weighted ones, its overly too much pressure on the knee. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=otqbG5CbZ7Ethats to show what i mean

They spend billions on research I'm pretty sure they would have already.... Ant if you are right surly you made a bit of a discovery? but.... I'm doubting it now as will said the same...

wills not always right man ;-)
i think the fact that my knee actually pops out of the joint when i attempt them gives you a good idea.
as i have torn cartilage, it means the bone can move out of the joint, when the angle is there.
and, doctors have said that glucosamine does nothing for the joints, but i can tell you otherwise.
the severe pain from the knee popping out of joint hhas become a minor discomfort thanks to these pills.
the only squats that i think are bad are full bum - foot ones.

also, we had just posted out some worthwhile information for you, and your reply has nothing to do with that. Why did my reply need to have anything to do with that? I apologised for not thanking you for providing the information so...
