Hi I'm a architecture student, and I'm looking into the idea of creating a facility for the use of extreme sport, Park-our, Flat land riding, trials and skateboarding. I've been inspired by the documentary Concrete Circus.
In this documentary I noticed how you don't just use the environment you are in to practice but you use gymnasiums and sports facilities. It was also conveyed that you are still an underground phenomena and there is still a lack of acceptance and understand through the public eye, yet on the media circuit (you-tube) you are the big hitters. I'm looking to try and create architecture that facilitates you requirements to develop you skills but also a building that can give back to the community. So a 2 in 1 building that will help give understanding to your disciplines by the general public. I want to design a building that both internally and externally can be your practice pad so you can then move out in to the public realm and urban grain.
I want to know your thoughts, your philosophy, your ideas, where to locate this building, what you would like to see?
Thanks for reading this
