Hey guys.
You can call me Koga. I've been into parkour for a year and a bit, only been taking it (and my life, lol) seriously more recently but I've made rapid progress in the months I've been training harder. The only conditioning I do is through parkour, aside from occaisionally seeing how far I can sprint and for how long (sprint conditioning? I dunno). I gotta start hitting the gym, or do kenjutsu more to tone up a bit and get that David Belle bod.
I currently live in Surrey, not far from where the Storror lads are from (20min train journey to Toby Segar's home town, 30mins to where Max and Benj Cave come from). My town's a bit smaller though, not as many interesting places to explore and train but I make do with what I've got. Gonna expand my horizons more in the coming months, gonna take a few trips up to London, Reading, maybe down to the coast aswell. I recently got a GoPro Hero 4 Black, but there's just not enough around my immediate area to get a substantial amount filmed, so I gotta get out there.
I have minimal-at-best martial arts experience, at least as far as fighting goes. I've studied Ninjutsu since I was about 12, I'm not experienced in the combat side of things (kenjutsu being the only part I've tried there), I've mostly practiced the more technical stuff like tenmon, intonjutsu, goton-no-jutsu, shinobi-iri, and a bit of seishin teki kyoyo. I've also had a few Pencak Silat and Shaolin Kung-Fu lessons, but I'm barely an amateur at either, so don't hide behind me if someone wants to knock you out lol.
As far as parkour goes, I'm pure parkour, with the David Belle philosophy. I do like and enjoy freerunning, but it's just not what I do. Parkour started as a hobby, but now for me it's a skill more than anything, something to train daily and keep pushing myself with. I'll still train with you if you'd rather do flips and make creative flows though, I still love all of that side of the puzzle, it's just not what I personally train.
Anyways I've been going on for long enough, if you're in Surrey near Guildford, Horsham, Reigate, etc. then feel free to PM me, we can go get up to some roof culture shenanigans or something. I've got nobody to train with locally, so it'd be amazing if one of you out there lives near enough to become a frequent training partner. And if you wanna learn about Ninjutsu give me a shout, but be warned: I can go on about Ninjutsu for days on end.
Peace, parkour fam.
