This is my next question, I was wondering if people think that practicing parkour has changed the way that they see the world, the buildings, architecture and structure of the streets, and, if so, how? Any commetns would be greatly appreciated.

i believe so my consciousness a view of the world has changed so much, i see a wall i think of wall running it i see a bar i imagine many different variations of gettng over or under it where i do my paper round :Pits quite a rough area so i look around and see where i can go to loose them and what techniques to use ....

good point mate.
wherever i go now, i see everything totally different.. a wall is not just a wall.. it has endless possibilities.
when i'm going somewhere in the car, i don't remember directions, i'm too busy looking at obstacles
your vision in everyday life is totally changed. you see everything so different to everyone else, its, amazing.

do you ever feel limited, like that is just too much... or is it always possibilities... also does anyone ever feel like they are conquering the environment or working with to accomplish new things... interesting points so far

this is the best convosation on here in a long time and thanx antony ! ;D feelling limited is difficult to explain, some obstacles look to overpowering and to skilled for yourself to conquer but i feel that there is always some way to conquer it, although it may not be obvious to see straight away ...yes - i do feel like i am conquering the enviroment, i notice that people do not tend to make there own way around, they follow paths and such accomplishing things boost your confidence and vision so much it really is hard to explain when your not in person

aha, another good post haha
yeah, we all have a limit that we should never go past, look at something, sure you MAY be able to do it, but is your body strong enough for it? to explain, i can jump off a roof.. but would my body be ready for the impact?
we aren't jumping off buildings though.. maybe just a precision we need to condition ourselves so that we are strong enough to absorb impact without damage, and be ready for it all

aha, another good post haha yeah, we all have a limit that we should never go past, look at something, sure you MAY be able to do it, but is your body strong enough for it? but then if you dont try it 1 how do you know you cant do it and 2 if we dont try doing stuff we know we cant do then how are we going to learn to do it

because you build up confidence silly.
when you start.. you don't go and do a foot precision, you build up to it

Great discussion here ;D well said antony, ive been doing parkour for about a year now, and still need to gain my confidence in precision jumps- from past experience it went a little bit rong i wasnt too injured if you were worried but recently ive been gaining the confidence to do bigger jumps and etc ....... really difficult to explain yourself in words we reeally all should me up at some point

yeah i know what you mean
you can look at something easy, and do it easy
see something bigger, looks quite mad to you, but then you realise you can do it
its wicked

i think that is an interesting idea that you can 't know that you can do it before you actually do it... do you think that parkour is subversive in that it undermines the normal behaviour of society... or do you think that it coincides with what is already there... does anyone think that parkour can change the functions or meaning of the buildings that you use to practice?

very well worded aha.
i wouldn't call it "undermining" its just the amazingness that occurs in the difference. when people stop and look at you and say things like "spiderman" and "you're from the matrix" make me laugh haha
the functions/meanings of buildings are madly adapted, everything you see is different, you see a gap and think of a precision, look at various shapes of walls and think about climbing, you don't see things like everyone else does
its an amazing feeling when you think about it
