Post by Re short film on Feb 11, 2005 11:42:40 GMT
Hello Maybe this is the wrong message board but here goes anyway. I wanna make a short film, LOW/NO budget about the dark history of London, the scary bits, some 'other' London, shot from the rooftops with a free runner as the 'tour guide' This film is so far partly written. and if I say so myself, it's looking good. I've made a few short films before and when I found out about parkour it really inspired me. Wish that I could do parkour but at age nearly 50, makes it extra hard. Still maybe, you never know, in some small starter way? Anyway, I can still shoot some pictures Anyone got any suggestions of offers of help or advise. I live in central London within walking distance of the south bank. Rob

In my opinion I dont think it would be suitable to use freerunners as tourguides. There are not many experience free runners in the UK at the moment and jumping roof tops it about 1% of parkour. Being in a film like this as a freerunner may ruin the image of parkour and their reputation. Sorry if i sound harsh

Thanks for your message. OK let me be clearer on a couple of points. It is not my intention to have a free runner as a tour guide. Maybe tour guide was the wrong word! Presenter then. The film is about London (The East end) as seen from the rooftops. and our presenter will show us London from this view point. The fictional character which our presenter will play LIVES on the rooftops and is a free runner. I am however supprised to learn that roof top work is as you say only 1 per cent of free running. Anyway I am fascinated by parkour and you have not dampened my interest. I wish you well and run safe. Rob
