when i go out on a jam after warming up my left leg aches for bout an hour and then when im not doing anything for about 10 mins it ahes again. why?

The whole leg? Have you injured it before? Do you warm down properly? etc. etc.

I'm no expert but it sounds to me like some kind of shin splint, does the pain reside in the muscle behind the shin bone (tibia)?
If so this is down to overuse or excessive impacts on hard solid ground. Warming up and down is certainly a way to avoid this.
I recently suffered from something similar to this and I'm still recovering. It's suggested to apply ice to the source of the pain fore about 10-20 mins each hour for the first 48 to 72 hours.
Check the shin splint section for more info..

Kay, also i think it was ice every two hours.. not every hour. Sorry, wasn't sure so I looked up after.
