Lets get a group started!

OK so there are quite a few of us interested in Parkour here in Derbyshire so what are we going to do about it?
It would make sense for us to get organised and I would be happy to help here.so what do you think of the following.
1) Start a website specifically for our own use to provide information, news etc.

2)Collect a list of names, ages, locations and contact details for group members.(then we can plan things in different areas to benefit all)

3)Check out places to train and practice and list these on our site along with photos if poss.

4)Get members who are at school to talk to sports teachers about helping out with training sessions, gym and equipment use or just as a consultant via e-mail etc

5)Think of a name for our group.Unfortunately Levity is already taken!

sounds like vertigo as is high up. but as we runnin we kinda flow so vertiflo ? might saound a bit lame 2 use lot but oh well i got bored. get bak 2 me on dis!!

Derbyshire CC has a sports dept dedicated to promoting sport and assisting clubs. Having a legitimate club may help with getting permission to use different sites instead of being treated like tresspassers, we might get help with finding gym facilities and coaches and could even apply for grants. I think it would be worth considering. I've sent e-mails to some suggesting a meeting to talk about ideas etc but I don't think everyone got it. How about meeting at the weekend.

Useful to know
Amber valley leisure centres have a scheme running where teens (11 onward)can join the gym for £5 and then pay 2.50 a session between 3.30 and 5.30.
Adults (18 onward) can get a tour of the facilities and then an induction along with a weeks free pass to try the gym out. If you become a member (£29 month or £26 for joint membership) you get unlimited use of gym, swimming and other classes.Concessions avail for students etc

yeh i think that we ourght to start something up im 14 and live in bolsover i could get are pe teachers to let us use the gym cos we never use the equipment

Hey this sounds like a great idea...have any of u been doing this for long....Ive never done it seriously done it....Only with ma m8s in town thts b4 ne1 had herd of jump london....but im up for it....Im 16 live in Long Eaton....15-20 mins away frm derby twn centre...but yall have sum good ideas...n if u get summit sorted id love to join.....it would b pretty gd if we could get sum leuisre centre to pratice in unfrotunately none in my area...Nice one...vanderz
