yeha i know what you mean mate, but in general, if someone see's me training parkour, they call me a freerunner, they EXPECT me to jump off rooves and do backtucks
and so, i think a rally would only give them ammo towards us

Thanks for all you rcomments guys. This has given us a good few ideas. We do agree that it is highly important to promote it in the right way - we do not want young children trying to jump off big buildings afterall! Parkour is indeed a discipline that requires alot of training and an event like this could be used as an ideal platform for you guys to get this message across. It is also a great idea to maybe have people teaching the children at the events - teaching them that it isn't just about jumping over big things! Do you think it would be best to do this in city centres or are there places where you guys train that could be used? Thanks again

Thanks again If you are providing the obstacles etc etc I think the best place to hold it would be a public park (in the summer) This should attract a lot of people. Also would nice to have a wider range of people there eg. Break dancers, martial artists, gymnasts, tricker, traceurs etc.

face it charlie, no one wants trickers Well lets look at it from a member of the public view. If they see you training 90% of the time what do they ask? "can you do a backflip?"

We are in fact looking to do it all over the UK - not just in Liverpool. London will definately be one of the cities, so we are wanting to know which other cities it would be useful to hold the events at? i.e cities where a lot of traceurs/free runners are based. To hold it in a park is also a great idea. I wonder if there are any ideal places in city centres that would be good also??

Maybe one in essex would gather a lot of interest ?... maybe further out such as cambridge..
