Hey all!
My name is Amy and I work for a public relations company in Liverpool. We are currently working on a campaign for one of our clients who specialise in clothing. We are thinking about organising a Free Runners Rally in association with the brand, and some other cool sponsors. This is totally at the drawing board stage so we would like to ask all the free runners for their ideas! We need to know things like, where would be best to stage the event? Would it be useful to do it at a number of key cities? Or just a main event? Any good locations we could use? Anything you may want to add!!
Please do comment - everything will be taken into consideration and of course everyone will be invited to join in!
Many thanks and i look forward to hearing your responses!!

Well as I said, this is totally at the planning stage. We are wanting to stage free runner rallies or events all over the country. Kind of like a showcase for your talents - we would even love to incorporate other things such as DJ's and fashion. Perhaps even making it into a contemporary art exhibition. We would love to hear any ideas of what you would like to see in something like this.
Thanks

I think it is a good idea but im afraid i dont really like what your saying about art fashion and dj's. I think parkour is about flow and spirit and movement not just a novelty. However i definately think a big event is a good idea

I fully understand what you are saying and we will take this on board. To set up an event like this it is necessary to get sponsors i.e a fashion label etc. The DJ's will be for that little extra entertainment. Our aim is to promote Parkour across the UK whilst also keeping the interest of our client in mind.

promoting it?
basically all i can see this doing is promoting danger to the youth and not giving the right impression.
this'll all be aesthetic aimed, and really wouldn't be too good for the community.
sorry to sound b*tchy

if they promote it in the rite way then i support it maybe there could be some classes tutoring kids so they know like i said you need to promote the rite thing or it could be a complete fack up you dont sound nasty thingy antony its a good point aslong as you dont promote parkour as jumping of big things or anythink like that it should be a good event you mite want to contact another site aswell i know most traceurs dont like the freeflow team but they have experience which could be useful

if they go for anyone, worldwidejam.
and, i can't see how you could promote parkour in a right way tbh
but, if you do one in essex, i'd be more than happy to join. (after 500 posts you're entitled to become a sell out.)

okay parkour could be promoted as just jumping of big things because that is the genreal perception chavs have of it where i live you could promote it as an discipline,a way of movement not just jumping about like a fool and it would be nice to have experienced traceurs there they would promote it correctly i would of thought you see what i meen now Antony:)

In the end it will all narrow down to big jumps and somersaults

which is the wrong view of parkour so this is why we need to get the message accross so we wont see 12 year olds trying to jump from roof to roof

Im pretty sure there won't be 12 year olds doing roof jumps lets keep it realistic.

true we havn't got any way of knowing they'll promote it as parkour and i agree it was abit drastic but if they prmote it badly we could see alot of younger kids doing absolutely pointly thinks like roofs for example

charlie - everybody i see calls me a "freerunner" and think that i just jump off stuff, even after telling them it is parkour and what not
so, whatever they name it, it will be seen as "freerunning" and will not be good for us, as usual
