Hi There, I have searched and can't really find a definitive regarding the age you can start parkour. I am mum to Harry who is almost 6 and watches constantly videos of parkour and free running! There are mattresses all over my house so he can jump off things and around things. He is constantly trying to become more agile and quick! He loves to watch skateboarders and takes his scooter with him to try tricks. A walk to the shop is fantastic as it often involves leaping over peoples walls and stealth running through their gardens! A lot of the gymnastic classes where we live are oversubscribed and he is on waiting lists which would be an alternative at his young age. So, I would really like to encourage him further, take him to see people doing parkour etc but I just don't know where and is he too young to be doing parkour? What can I do with him regarding protecting his joints etc and ensuring his diet supports the energy he is expending? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Jo Hopefully you will be able to see this. As a younger person doing parkour, it is important to lay the groundwork for good technique above all else. Depending what area you live in, there are parkour classes in a lot of local gyms and many teach classes aimed at young children. They are fun and they get to meet new friends.

Just in case any people still pop by this site, I'm Nikolay and do live near and work in Oxford . I will do my best to meet as many people as I can and see if I can train with some of you. I am currently also going to be training in Reading when I can, so hope to meet some of you soon. Give me a shout if you want to get in touch, even if you are seeing this post in 2020 and the site's been dead for 10 years! Also true for me, I train in central London every weekend with a large goup of people. We are always looking for more people to jump around with, no matter the level.

Overcoming fear of pain is slightly dangerous.

Haha, I will, but let me warn you... I am extremely uncapable when it comes to flips. I have the slowest recorded assisted wallflips this century.

Nope, I didn't end up going; due to extraordinary muscular pain.

Hi, I originally joined this forum in '05 and then I stopped coming because I was on my own team forum board... but now I'm back. My name is Oliver, but most people call me Zetan. I'm 19 years old. I live and practice in London. I have been practicing freerunning for about 2 years. I practice Ninjitsu and I am a Bboy. EDIT: I remember why I left... it was because nobody EVER posted...
